Crude oil in Burrard Inlet Risk Assessment May, 2010

6. Identify ways to reduce those risks

  • There have been several marine risk assessments that have been undertaken in southern British Columbia that recognize:
    • Marine accidents happen
    • They can occur anywhere
    • For any reason

  • Therefore, the only way to eliminate the risk is to stop the shipment of crude oil through Burrard Inlet.
